If you start at the beginning that taste is overwhelming and confusing, most spit it out. The way he looks at things is unique and gives the Discworld novels a flavour that I haven’t been able to taste anywhere else.
The Discworld is a satirical twist on our world. You know how once you fall in love with something you can’t help but devour everything? You read the lore, you join the subreddit, you argue for hours with your friends about ships, foreshadowing, and who is the best character? Terry Pratchett is like that. I started with the Witches Novels (after trying and failing to read The Colour of Magic), I would recommend starting there, or either with The Watch or Tiffany Aching. Terry Pratchett’s Discworld is fantastic but there is something about the Wizard books that are very difficult to get into.
